Articles - More on crawling - progression...
In this video we wanted to show you what are the keypoints when we teach crawling, and how detailed oriented we are when we teach one of the most primtive movement, the crawl. Crawling sounds easy to do and naturally easy to teach, but crawling in a complex movement, the foundation of all gait patterns. In crawling so many details must click, so many parts must work in harmony, that could be also a full one day semimar to go through.
"Children grow and develop by exploring the world through movement. They build amazing strength through patterns like crawling. By crawling, a child literally ties his body together and prepares himself to walk, jump, pick things up, and run. He is preparing his body to transfer force powerfully and gracefully. Your adult body works much the same way today as it did when you were a developing child. You can take advantage of the way you were created to re-establish, or reinforce, your reflexive strength and stability. You can establish a solid foundation on which you can add strength, speed, grace, and power." - Tim Anderson, the author of Becoming bulletproof
